Description

Product Description

The TS25PF07G Power Semiconductor Module is a compact high-power electronic component designed for use in power switching, control, and conversion circuits. It features a rugged molded package with four external terminals and mounting holes for secure installation on a PCB, heatsink, or suitable mounting surface.

Its robust construction makes it suitable for various power electronics, industrial control, switching, and electrical conversion applications. The component should be used according to the manufacturer's electrical specifications and terminal configuration

Component Identification

  • Marking on Device: TS25P07G, SHS, S1D4
  • Manufacturer: Taiwan Semiconductor Corporation (TSC)
  • Device Type: Single-Phase, Full-Wave Bridge Rectifier
  • Package: TS-6P / SIP-4P (4-Pin, Through Hole, with center mounting hole)
  • Pin Configuration (left to right, as marked on body):
    Pin Symbol Function
    1 + DC Output (Positive)
    2 ~ AC Input
    3 ~ AC Input
    4 DC Output (Negative)

What This Component Does

This device converts an AC (alternating current) input into a pulsating DC (direct current) output. It integrates four diodes internally in a bridge configuration, enabling full-wave rectification from a single component. The "07" in the part number designates this as the highest voltage variant in the TS25P0xG series (TS25P01G through TS25P07G span 50V up to 1000V), making it suited for higher-voltage AC input rectification stages compared to its lower-numbered siblings.

Important Usage Notes (for support/troubleshooting reference)

  • This is a very high voltage-rated part: At 1000V VRRM, this is the top of its series — often chosen deliberately for extra safety margin in circuits with high-voltage AC input, voltage surges, or heavily inductive loads (motors, transformers), even when the nominal line voltage is much lower.
  • Heatsinking still matters: Despite the high voltage rating, the 25A current rating still assumes proper heatsink mounting via the center hole. Insufficient heatsinking is a common cause of thermal-related failure even in high-voltage-rated parts like this.
  • Inrush current is expected: A brief surge while charging input filter capacitors at power-up is normal and falls within the 350A surge rating, provided it's momentary rather than sustained.
  • AC pins are non-polarized; DC pins are not: The two "~" terminals can be wired in either orientation, but "+" and "−" DC output pins must be connected correctly to protect downstream components.
  • Don't substitute a lower-voltage variant: Since this part looks visually identical to lower-voltage siblings (TS25P01G–TS25P06G) apart from the printed marking, always double check the exact part number before using it as a replacement in a design that specifically calls for 1000V VRRM headroom.

Typical Applications

High-voltage switch-mode power supplies (SMPS), industrial AC-to-DC power conversion, motor drive rectification stages, and any circuit requiring extra reverse-voltage safety margin beyond standard 600V/800V-rated bridge rectifiers.
